NFT Portal
The Portal Bridge
The portal is the bridge between the game and the blockchain. It runs on Base (the Ethereum layer 2 network, chain ID 8453) with Solidity smart contracts. It has three parts:
- ›Bases travel as ERC-721 NFTs (one token per base)
- ›Cards travel as ERC-1155 NFTs (many copies per card type)
- ›Partner collections let holders of approved NFT collections use them in the game
Connect Your Wallet
Connect an EVM wallet with the wallet button and sign the verification message. Every portal action requires a connected, verified wallet, and injections must come from that same wallet.
Bases: Extract and Inject
Extract (game to wallet) from your Bases page. Before a base can leave the game:
- ›You must have completed at least 15 base claims in total (a one-time unlock)
- ›You must have owned that base for at least 48 hours
- ›The base can't be in battle or blockaded, can't have a card applied, can't be unallocated (rezone it first), can't be a colony site and can't be on a forged alliance moon
Extraction costs 25 gems plus the portal fee in ETH that you pay from your wallet. If the extraction fails or you cancel the wallet transaction, the gems are refunded. Troops and ships stationed on the base move to another of your military bases (or become homeless if you have none).
Inject (wallet to game) from the portal section of your Bases page. The base returns to your account with its NFT held by the portal contract. To inject you need a visa for the base's moon (Titan: the account visa; forged moons: no visa). Anyone holding the NFT can inject it, so bases bought on a marketplace work too.
Cards: Extract and Inject
Use Cards > NFT Bridge.
- ›Extract: mints copies of a card you own into your wallet. Costs 25 gems per extraction. Copies applied to a base can't be extracted, so remove the card from the base first.
- ›Inject: returns card NFTs from your wallet to your account. You pay the portal fee in ETH from your wallet, and the portal checks your on-chain balance first.
- ›Bot Family cards inject one at a time and still respect their one-per-player limit.
Restricted partner cards. Partner Card Alpha to Omega (token IDs 1001 to 1005) are one-per-wallet partner drops. They can't be extracted, can't be injected, and can't be listed on the card marketplace. The bridge and the marketplace hide them.
Supply Caps
Some cards have a supply cap. The Codex shows how many copies have been minted against the cap, and a capped card is sold out once it reaches it. Moving copies through the bridge is not a new mint: extracting does not free up supply, and injecting does not use any.
Partner Collections
An alliance can apply to have an outside NFT collection approved as a partner collection. Holders of an approved collection can inject one of those NFTs: the NFT is held in escrow and you receive a Partner Card in exchange. Extracting it later releases the original NFT back to your wallet and removes that Partner Card from your account. Some collections are open to everyone; others only to members of the approving alliance.
